Prof. Siegfried Waldvogel moves to the Max Planck Society

Prof. Dr. Siegfried Waldvogel has been one of four directors of the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion in Mülheim/Ruhr (MPI CEC) since 1 December 2023.

In 2010, Prof Waldvogel accepted a W3 appointment at JGU and has consistently expanded his research group ever since. His work focuses on organic electrosynthesis, i.e., the use of electric current to generate new valuable chemical products directly.

The profound impact of his research is evident in numerous publications and patents, publicly funded research projects, collaborations with companies, and the creation of company spin-offs.

For this reason, it is only logical that Prof. Waldvogel has now accepted the call of the Max Planck Society and can, therefore, focus entirely on future research in this socially relevant field.

We are pleased to announce that the collaboration in a number of joint research projects will continue in the future. We thank Prof. Waldvogel for the numerous impulses he has given to the development of chemistry in Mainz and wish him every success in his new position.

Prof. Dr. C. Streb took over SusInnoScience´s speaker role.
