On March 17, 2025, the ADUC Prize 2025 was awarded in Braunschweig by Prof. Dr. Hans-Dieter Arndt (Chair of ADUC), among others, to Junior Professor Dr. Johannes Markus Wahl, “…in recognition of his creative contributions to the development of stereoselective synthetic methods, particularly through the clever application of small-ring compounds using novel catalytic processes.”

As part of the Annual Meeting of Chemistry Lecturers, the Working Group of German University Professors of Chemistry (ADUC) awards the ADUC Prize to up to three early-career researchers (habilitation, junior professorship, fellowship, or tenure track) who aim to pursue a long-term career in the German scientific landscape. The award recognizes the establishment of an independent research area in the field of chemistry. It includes a certificate of award, a book prize, and prize money of €4,000 per recipient. Nominations, including self-nominations, should be submitted no later than eight years after the completion of a PhD and before the start of a permanent professorship. The establishment of the independent research area must be demonstrated through publications in relevant scientific journals.
